Can we apply for a de facto visa when we have spent time apart

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR THE ANSWER!

In this week's episode of our Weekly Q&A one participant asked Can we apply for a de facto visa when we have spent time apart?
The exact question was:

We're in a de facto relationship. Do we need to be together all the time to apply successfully for an Australian partner visa?

I'm in Australia apart from my Filipina de facto partner, but we communicate every day. Does this time count toward our de facto relationship for a partner visa application?

Do we need to be together all the time to apply successfully for an Australian partner visa? What if we need to be apart because I needed to go back to Australia?

Who are Down Under Visa? Who is Jeff Harvie?

Jeff Harvie and the Down Under Visa team have been doing this for a lot of years! Down Under Visa have brought thousands of couples to Australia from South East Asia over the years. Mostly from the Philippines, but we help increasing numbers of couples where the visa applicant is from China, Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia. And what this means is we see a lot of success....and we also see failures when people go it alone after talking to their mate, or their relative, or that minimal-care-no-responsibility Facebook group run by Steve and Maribeth based on their own visa application! One application, and they feel qualified to advise others! It's not even LEGAL to do that!

Hi, So i have a multiple entry tourist visa to Oz for a year, with 3mos max stay per entry. I already stayed in Oz from 3 Aug to 28 Oct. I have booked another round trip ticket from 11 Nov to 8 Feb, and only just now i realized i might get questioned why i want to return to Oz immediately. I stayed with my fiance while i was there, and i just want to stay more with him, thus the immediate want to return. Only like 14 days here in Ph. They might think i got an illegal job in there, which i dont, because i dont wanna risk ruining my record. Will i be asked for a bank statement or certificate to prove that i have enough funds to stay for another 3mos in there? I really need your expert opinion on this. Thanks!! Fhem

You should discuss this matter with the Migration Agent who assisted you with your visa application.
