Can you get a tourist visa for a girl from the philippines if you haven't met in person

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR THE ANSWER!

In this week's episode of our Weekly Q&A one participant asked Is it possible to get a visa for a Filipina girl when we haven't met in person yet?

The exact question was:

I was just wondering can you get a sponsored tourist visa for a girl from the Philippines if not met in person, we communicate over the internet

Do you need to meet in person before applying successfully for an Australian tourist visa? Is it necessary to travel to the Philippines to meet your girl before applying? What if you've build up a genuine and committed relationship via the internet? Skype or Viber or similar? Is that enough, or do you need a physical meeting first?

Who are Down Under Visa? Who is Jeff Harvie?

Jeff Harvie and the Down Under Visa team have been doing this for a lot of years! Down Under Visa have brought thousands of couples to Australia from South East Asia over the years. Mostly from the Philippines, but we help increasing numbers of couples where the visa applicant is from China, Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia. And what this means is we see a lot of success....and we also see failures when people go it alone after talking to their mate, or their relative, or that minimal-care-no-responsibility Facebook group run by Steve and Maribeth based on their own visa application! One application, and they feel qualified to advise others! It's not even LEGAL to do that!

My income is that of an aged pension and I have been communicating with a Filipino pinay for over 3 years and will visit her in July and December of this 2017. During our communication, I have regularly been seeing to some minimum comforts for her and her 12yo old daughter and we have both kept all money receipts transfers from Western Union. That all being said, would my age pension restrict me in applying for a visa, for her to come here to Australia, in due course?

Hello Edward. Around 10% of our sponsors receive pensions. It's never proved to be a problem from what we've seen over the years. Suggest you go to our website and complete our free visa assessment form: https://www.downundervisa.com/visa-assessment/

Hi Jeff My bother has been internet dating a girl in the Philippines ( apparently )… he talks to her using skype and messenger etc… he's been doing this for around 2 months now… he's never met her or been over there either . he's been transferring money to her just about every week for all sorts of items . like she needs money for medication , her sick relatives , food etc etc… he's even given her money for a visa and plane ticket to australia . and of course she never arrived ( funny that ) as her brother died just as she was arriving at the airport . she also said she got stopped at airport by immigration as she didn't have enough paperwork and only had a one way ticket . i,m absolutely sure this is a scam and he's being cat fished . but even after the airport fiasco , he still believes she's coming to Australia . Do you think this is scam and is there any way she could get a visa to come to Australia .

It sounds very much like it, yes. Considering they'v never met, highly unlikely she would get a visa. And she probably prefers the visa and ticket money in her pocket anyway.
