The exact question was:

I just had my tourist visa application to Australia refused. What can I do now?

Tourist visa application refusals from Philippines to Australia are very common, usually due to poorly prepared applications that don’t explain the visa applicant’s case well enough to get a visa grant. Is it possible to try again to get an Australian visa?

Dear Jeff and Mila. I have had my 2 applications refused for my fiancé Jessielyn Maratas Flores because they accused her over her employment situation. Although she has worked for 6 years and her employer is her aunt and she is willing to give Jess 3 months vacation to come and visit me and her job is available for her when she returns back to the Philippines. They refused both applications Both saying her employment situation is not genuine And she wont return back to the Philippines. This decision is totally false I will most certainly comply with her visa and she will return after her 3 mth visit to Australia because I intend to bring Jess back In the near future. We have been together now for nearly 3 years and we very much in love with eachother and she would love to come to Australia to be with me.I visited Jess in October to December 2014 in which contracted a serious infection in my right leg I was hospitalised for last 3 weeks of my visit and Jess never left my side whilst I was in hospital. Please is there any way you can help me I’m a pensioner and don’t have much money is there any way you can help me bring the love of my life to be with me. Jess would also love to talk to Mila if possible to help us with our problem so would you give us your phone No so Jess can call for some satisfaction from Mila because she is very distressed at this time worrying she will not be able to visit me in the nearest future. With all my thanks I would appreciate it if you can help us. Many thanks Gary.I am most certainly genuine.

I’ve just done your assessment, Gary. I won’t go into personal details here, because this is public. But I will tell you that refusal notices are templates. They are not being personal, nor are they accusing Jessielyn of anything. If the application is not prepared in a way that convinces them, they need to refuse. Simple as that. The issue is that about putting together a convincing visa application, and we are fortunately very good at that. Please read the assessment letter I emailed to you.

You can apply anytime, however if your new application is basically a repeat of the first application it will probably be refused again. Suggest you get a free online visa assessment and see if you can be helped by professionals.

Hi I recently applied for a visa and got rejected due to not providing sufficient proof of employment details to return to my work country. However my next question is that the decision record states they have no family to come back to. I am born and raised in this country and all my family memebers are here but they never asked this question. The applicant has limited international travel hows that possible i uploaded 7 passport pages entry exit stamps of my recent travel history thats 7 countries in the last 3 years. You gotta be kidding me?

Refusal letters are templates, and the examples offered as to why the application was refused don’t always reflect the actual situation. Suggest you get some professional help next time.

Hello Goran. Yes, we probably can help you. You will need to do one of our free online visa assessment forms (which you’ll see the link to on the main website page) so we can see if we actually can.

As for the refusal notice? It wasn’t because they didn’t think her employment was genuine. They use a template letter for refusals, and they all say 90% the same thing. It just means they weren’t convinced by the application. If you have a genuine relationship, we can normally present your case more effectively.

    Hi Jeff,
I invited my sister to visit me and my family here in Australia. I helped her with her tourist visa application and submitted it online through ImmiAccount. But my sister’s Tourist visa application to Australia was refused because she was not able to get a letter of approval for a leave of absence from her employer. Although she explained all of this through her letter to the department and also she explains that she will resign from her job and continue with her study next year. She also explains that aside from her plan study, she have a family (consisting of our parents and siblings) in the Philippines another reason for her return. But the officer that refused her application says that he was not satisfied that my sisters personal circumstances support her claim that she intends to temporarily stays in Australia. I am not sure what to do. I really wanted my sister to visit me and my family this Christmas. I was thinking of reapplying her but we will use the visitor visa (sponsored family stream) this time and if they wanted me to pay for a security bond I will be happy to pay. And how soon can we reapply? It also states in the notification of the refusal letter that the decision can be reviewed but the fee was just to much for me. I don’t know what to do. Hope you can help me with this. Thank you.

Hi Jeff, I just want to visit Australia on my birthday this coming August and also got my leave approved also. I have applied my visa last July 18, 2019 but unfortunately it was refused.
Based on the emailed receive reasons of refusal is because I didn’t show any proof that can support myself, but I attached my bank statemet, payslips, ITR and othe approved visa.

Is there anyway that my application will reconsider.

Can you help me what to do?

Generally yes. It’s a new application and it’s treated accordingly.

    Hi Jeff!

Our flight for Sydney is on the night of Nov. 1. However, we still haven’t gotten the result of our tourist visa application. Since Nov. 1 is holiday in the Philippines, can I call Australian Home Affairs to see if they can review our application before our flight?

    Thanks in advance!

You would be wasting your time, sorry. Their advice (and ours) is to never buy a ticket without a granted visa first.

Hi Jeff! My fiancee and I applied for a Australian Visa (Tourist Stream) via Immiaccount and both of our visa got refused for the reason that we don’t have genuine intention to return to our residing country. We submitted all required documents including our work permits, ARCs, payslips, and bank certificates. We’re planning to reapply again, this time, with a NOC which would prove that we have approved leaves and will definitely be back in Taiwan. As we’re currently working in Taiwan, our application was processed by the Consulate Office in Hong Kong, and when we emailed them, they suggested to have a Fresh Application. We’re just confused by “Fresh Application”, does it mean we need to apply again as if we’re a new applicant with a new Immiaccount or should we state that we were already rejected once in visa application form online?

Thank you and we’re looking forward to your response.

It just means to apply again. However if she is an overseas worker based in Taiwan it’s very unlikely they will grant a tourist visa, because it’s hard to prove that she will return at the end of the stay.
