“Your profession is noble one where you unite true love and change peoples’ lives.”

A Down Under Visa client told me this yesterday. Their Subclass 309 Partner Visa was granted yesterday just over 7 months from lodgement date. The Australian sponsor happened to be in Manila visiting when he got the great news, and this means he can bring his lady back to Australia with him instead of going back alone as he thought he would.

Whilst I can’t speak for all Registered Migration Agents, I can certainly speak for us. We DO see this as a noble profession, and yes we started doing this years ago because we wanted to unite couples and make the process easier and more certain. I was (and still are) happily married to a wonderful woman who is a product of this great country, and I wanted to help others achieve the same level of happiness. Right now I couldn’t even begin to count the couples that we’re played our part in bringing together. The hours are long, and sometimes the emotions run high. But it’s that opportunity to make a difference in peoples’ lives that drives us on.

Do all agents feel the same as we do? I would like to think so, but there will be varying degrees of altruism obviously. Another client made a video for us yesterday (which you can see HERE) where he said that there are plenty of sharks out there. I hope that some of the “sharks” can see past the mountains of paperwork and stress and see the real people sitting there and the lives that they can change.

Another client sent me a photo of his newborn son yesterday. Had we not managed the visa application of his Filipina wife (now an Australian Permanent Resident), would this little boy be in the world right now? Who knows? I’m glad we played our part, and I’m glad I can share their happiness.

Congratulations to new Australian Permanent Residents
